William Norman Butler's Obituary
William Norman Butler, 87, of Bealeton, VA passed away December 24, 2022 at The Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born June 17, 1935 to the late John William Butler and Clara Robinson Butler in Culpeper, VA.
William was a member of Hope Hill Baptist Church in Castleton, VA. He loved to tinker with big trucks and anything that was broken. William loved to watch football and cheered for any team that won against the Dallas Cowboys. In his down time he would enjoy watching old westerns, especially “Gunsmoke” while eating his favorite food, any type of fish. William ultimately loved time spent with his family at get togethers and cook outs while old school soul music played in the background.
William is survived by his wife of 18 years, Josephine Williams Butler; children, Margaret Butler Hutherson (Lawrence), Ricky William Butler (Marsha), Norma Jean Butler, Betty Marie Butler-Turner (Walter), David McKinley Butler (Brenda), and Donald Edward Butler (Sherry); step children, Brenda Lee Lane (Larkey) and Newton Henry Gales (Charlene); adopted son, Brian Norman Butler; brothers, Henry Butler, John Butler (Donna), and Roger Butler (Denise); sisters, Sarah Alexander (Larry), Mary Veeney (Lindell), and Debbie Faye (Tony Jameson).
Additional survivors include sisters in law, Frances Butler, Diane Butler and Barbara J. O’Banion; brothers in law, Leon Hunt and Mckinley McIntosh; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie M. Butler; grandchildren, Rick Robinson and Anthony Nibblins;brothers, John Maurice Butler (Ruth), Lloyd Butler, Jake Butler, Herbert Lee Butler, and John Henry Butler; and sisters, Lizzie Anna Waters (Russell), Rosie Hunt, and Gertrude McIntosh.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 9297 Eggbornsville Rd, Rixeyville, VA 22737.
Pallbearers serving the family will be Rodney White, Donnie Noakes, Tyler Jeffries, James Feaganes, Daryl Scott, and Randy Scott.
