William "Buddy" Russell Brown, Jr.'s Obituary
William “Buddy” Brown, Jr., 72, of Stevensburg, VA died Monday, August 22, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1944 in Stevensburg to the late William Russell Brown, Sr. and Jane Webb Brown.
Buddy was a veteran of the US Navy having served in Vietnam. He retired as a plant operator at Conoco, was a member of the Masonic Lodge in OK, professional carpenter, loved motorcycles but music was his life. He played country music professionally and could play anything he put his hands on.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Powers Brown; six children, Lisa Gray of Stanley, VA, Michelle Pearman and her husband, Roy of Front Royal, VA, William Anthony Brown and his wife, Kathy of Stevensburg, VA, Marijane Rothenay and her husband, Christopher Shane of San Diego, CA, William Russell Brown, III and his wife, Kathy of Heber Springs, AR and Llew Brown of Haysville, KS.
He is also survived by one sister, Jane Gray Hitt and her husband, Bubby of Stevensburg, VA; 24 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Betty Matheney, the mother of his three oldest children.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Stevensburg Baptist Church, 19393 York Rd., Stevensburg, VA with Pastor Howie Holmes officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
