William J. Brown, Jr.'s Obituary
William J. Brown, Jr., 69, of Culpeper, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. He was born December 6, 1948 to the late William, Sr. and Frances Gray Brown.
William retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1973 in the Vietnam War in which he earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Glascoe Brown; daughter, NaShonda Whitaker and husband, Charlie of Washington, DC; three sons, Eric J. Brown of Culpeper, VA, Neil K. Brown and wife Kimberly of Haymarket, VA, and Duane K. Brown and wife, Amanda of Hyde Park, NY.
He is also survived by one sister, Arnette Brown; two brothers, Steve Brown and Charles Dennis Brown and wife, Darlene; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three sister in laws, Lucy Chapman and husband, Joseph, Lorraine Reaves and husband, Sanford, and Peggy Glascoe; three brother in laws, George Glascoe and wife, Diane, Allen Glascoe and wife, Penny, and Steve Glascoe and wife, Jackie all of Culpeper, VA.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 4 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 202 West Street, Culpeper, VA, 22701. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 10 AM at Culpeper National Cemetery, 502 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA, 22701 with military honors provided by VFW Post 2524.
