William "Bill" Clyde Smith's Obituary
William “Bill” Clyde Smith, 78, of Rixeyville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Culpeper Hospital. He was born June 20, 1947 to the late Rodney Earl Smith, Sr. and Elsie Marie Smith in Hopewell, VA.
Bill was a dedicated truck driver, a proud U.S. Army veteran, and a true outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Esther Smith; daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Smith and Kimberly Smith; grandchildren, William J. Smith, Britney Grant, and Brittany Watson; great-grandchildren, Keyonna Sutherland and Kaylee Baker; a special nephew, Warren Mann; and a host of additional nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Lena Watson; brothers, Rodney Earl Smith, Jr., Carl Smith, and Robert Smith; and sisters, Elizabeth Wright and Betty Turner.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E. Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA. Those who wish to join the procession will meet at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. at 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 2524.
