William "Bill" Vernon Johnson's Obituary
William “Bill” Vernon Johnson, Jr. passed away July 28, 2025, at his residence. He was born April, 30, 1947 to the late William Vernon Johnson, Sr. and Lefa Muriel Zeeks Johnson in Fredericksburg but was raised in Sumerduck.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Angel.
Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 330 and served in the United States Army Reserves for 25 years. He was a former member of Sumerduck Baptist Church. Bill worked for VDOT for 41 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting pool, fireworks, playing cards, spending time with his family and watching the Redskins. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Clara Johnson; son, Terry Johnson and step-son, Patrick Pritt (Brittany) and three grandchildren, Reagan Pritt (Noah Weaver), Kalah Washington (Andrew) and Kevin Cole.
A celebration of life will be held August 23, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Family Community Church, 120 Chestnut Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701. Pastor Randy Albritton will be officiating. A reception will be held following the service. The family requests flowers and food donations be taken to the chuch prior to the service.
