Wilbur Henry Washington's Obituary
Wilbur Henry Washington, 69, of Stafford died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his home. Wilbur was born November 18, 1941, to the late, Wilbur and Rachel Wilson Washington.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lucy Wright and one brother, Joseph Washington.
Wilbur joined Beulah Baptist Church, Arcadia, VA at an early age. He was educated in the Spotsylvania School system.
Wilbur (Henry) was the owner of Washington’s Concrete for a number of years and employed many people. Over the years, he helped many people within the community to save their homes, bought Christmas gifts for many families who did not have. Henry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to mourn, his daughter, Sherrie Washington and her husband, Kevin, his son, Craig Washington and his wife, April; four grandchildren, Julia Washington, David O’Brien Washington of King George, Devin Kelly and Anastasia Washington of Stafford; his former wife, Shirley Washington of Randallstown, MD; four brothers, Steven Washington, David Washington and his wife, Darlene, Robert Washington and Sherman Washington of Spotsylvania; five sisters, Susie Grant and her husband, Eliaah and Mary Carter of Spotsylvania, Ruth Washington of Washington, DC, Linda Galimore of Korea and Brenda Dixon and her husband, Theadore of Spotsylvania.
Wilbur’s family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg with a funeral service to be held at 12:00pm with the Rev. Mary Grant officiating. Interment will follow in First Baptist Ambar Church Cemetery, King George.
