Wilbur Lee Atkins' Obituary
Wilbur Lee Atkins, 79, of Sperryville, VA passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Brookside Rehab and Nursing Center in Warrenton, VA. He was born July 21, 1941 in Rappahannock, VA to the late Eugene Benton and Elsie Virginia Atkins.
Wilbur attended Gid Brown Baptist Church in Rappahannock. He was an avid hunter and loved watching and attending NASCAR races.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Margaret V. Atkins “Sue”; children, Johnnie Byron Smith (Cheryl), Wayne Lee Atkins, Donna Simons (David), Ronnie Dean Atkins (Melissa), and Penny Jane Swan; grandchildren, Eric Smith (Crystal), Brittney Smith, Matthew Atkins (Jessica), William Atkins (Lindsey), Justin Atkins, Joshua Simons (Jewel), Lauren Atkins, Chelsea Walker, and Jennifer Walker; great grandchildren, Maddox Smith, Mason Smith, Cooper Atkins, Evie Atkins, Harper Simons, and Chase Simons; and sister, Mary Jane Settle.
In addition to his parents, Wilbur is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Atkins, Jr. and sister, Josephine Jenkins.
Interment will be private.
Grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
