Wayne A. Compton's Obituary
Wayne A. Compton 72, passed away at his home in Castleton Va July 19, 2024. He was born May 31, 1952 to the late Edward Brown and Lucy Margaret Compton.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Patricia A. Compton; daughter, Melissa A . Compton; granddaughter, Morgan N. Tapp; two brothers, Charles Compton and wife, Faye, and Sam Compton and wife, Betty; one sister, Ellen Clatterbuck; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Compton.
Wayne lived in Rappahannock County his whole life. He was a farmer and also owned and operated a custom farm service. He was a good, kind, and very hard-working man, for the majority of his life he worked at cutting and making hay, cutting and delivering wood, bush-hogging, clearing, and fencing, he was willing to help anyone who needed it. He was well-liked and respected by all who knew him. Wayne loved his family, tractors, working on the farm, pulling Oliver tractors, and his wheelhorse mowers, for which he won many trophies. He loved and missed his little buddy, his beloved dog, Snoopy. His wife, daughter, and granddaughter will miss him very much. He will be missed beyond words.
Graveside service to be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the family cemetery on the Compton Farm, 192 Lizzie Mills Road, Castleton, VA 22716.
