Wayne Edward Bailey's Obituary
Wayne Edward Bailey, 65, of Unionville, VA, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at his home after a battle with cancer.
Wayne was a devoted son, father, brother, and a friend to many. He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man. He spent most of his working years in excavating and trucking. The last 17 years were spent with T. C. Catlett and Sons Lumber Company as a driver. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, teaching his son to work on cars, riding motorcycles, boating, and playing cornhole.
Wayne is survived by his son, Justin Bailey; his brother, Gregory Bailey; and long-time partner, Beth Touhey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Dodson; and his father, Donald “Ray” Dodson.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the Red Barn at Wilderness Presidential Resorts, 9220 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553 (You will need to stop at the guard station and show ID) This will be a casual event as he did not want a big fuss made over him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
