Waynard Lee Zimmerman Sr.'s Obituary
Waynard Lee Zimmerman, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
Waynard was born in Marfrance, West Virginia on January 28, 1940. He worked in the coal mines of West Virginia until he moved to Spotsylvania, Virginia where he retired from Martin Marietta in 2006.
Waynard enjoyed anything Western! He loved shooting guns, riding horses and he never left the house without wearing a cowboy hat.
Waynard is survived by his son, Waynard Lee Zimmerman, Jr.; step-daughter, Carol Britt; and step-sons, Gaylen and Charles Williams, all of Partlow; brothers, William “Bill” Zimmerman of Partlow, and Julian “Dee” Zimmerman of Rupert, WV; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carley Zimmerman; mother, Hazel Zimmerman, father, Ernest "Buzz" Zimmerman; sister, Catherine "Sis" Shaver; brothers, Ernest "Buddy" Zimmerman, Delmar "Ike" Zimmerman, Steven "Rock" Zimmerman, and Sidney "Pat" Zimmerman; step-daughter, Cathy Jordan; and step-brother, Lonnie "Buck" Miles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 in At the End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville, WV.
