Wanda Mia Jenkins Anderson's Obituary
Wanda Mia Jenkins Anderson, 55, of Culpeper, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Oklahoma on August 6, 1965 to Leomia McFadden Jenkins and the late Elijah Jenkins.
Wanda was presently employed as a programs supervisor at OPTIONS, Culpeper. She enjoyed working with at-risk youth, and headed many programs to provide help and services to children and families in need. She graduated from Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY, earned a B.A. in Psychology from Saint Bonaventure University in Orlean, NY, and a Master of Science Community Health from California College for Health Services in National City, CA. Wanda was also a certified advanced alcohol drug counselor and a qualified mental health professional for children. She was a Veteran of the United States Air Force from 1988 to 1994. She was an air traffic controller in Dessert Shield Dessert Storm Campaign, 1991.
Wanda was survived by her mother, her husband of 28 years, Jeffrey Edward Anderson, her children, Alexandra Owens and her husband, Brian, Cory Anderson and his wife, Jordan, and Joshua Anderson, and his wife, Abigail; her grandchildren, Jayden Anderson-Lane, Adrien Anderson-Owens, Nehemiah Anderson-Owens, and Gideon Anderson; and her siblings, Anthony Jenkins, and his wife, Deborah, Rachel Jefferson, and her husband, Jeff, and John Jenkins.
She is preceded in death by her father, a grandson, Elijah Anderson-Owens, and a sister, Robin Schroff.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 12pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Erick Kalenga officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am till the service time at 12pm. Due to Covid 19 mandates, a mask is required to enter the building. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery, (new section) 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper.
