Walter Lee Rogers' Obituary
Walter “Sonny” Lee Rogers, 87, of Culpeper peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2024 at his residence with family by his side. He was born July 23, 1937 in McDonough, GA to the late Lowe Fessor “Jack” and Cynthia Rogers.
Sonny devoted his time to the family business, L.F. Rogers Logging for many years, was later employed part-time at Bill’s Gulf, and went on to work as a professional logger and loader operator at Rock Hill Lumber until his retirement. He was the greatest husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Some of his greatest joys of life were logging, camping, family gatherings and being with his friends. He touched the heart of everyone he came in contact with, and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold that was open to all who crossed his path.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Jannette “Pat” Rogers,and loving son, Lowe Fessor “L.F.” Rogers, of Dumfries, VA. He is also survived by three sisters, Louise Jones, Gladys Lockett, and Eunice Rogers Banks; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jackie Rogers and Johnny Rogers; brothers-in-law, Tommy Jones and Robert “Bobby” Lane; and mother-in-law, Virginia Lane Bundy. Sonny was also preceded in death by two nephews, Tony Banks and Michael Rogers; a niece, Cynthia; and a great-niece, Kecia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Milton L. Branch, Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family will be Wendell Gore, Marvin Robinson, Jeremey Sisk, Virgil Sisk, Timothy Smith, and Timmy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathaniel Jasper, Robert Kay, Bill Kidd, and James Sisk.
Repass will be immediately after the services at Found and Sons Funeral Home.
