Walter Eugene Martin Jr.'s Obituary
Walter Eugene Martin, Jr., 90 of Fredericksburg, passed away Sunday August 31, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Walter served in the US Army during WWII as a draftsman / topographer, paratrooper and was a prisoner of war for two years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Bonita; two sons, Walter E. Martin III (Dela) and Derek E. Martin (Shirley); a daughter, Valerie L. Martin; six grandchildren, David A. Gregware (Cindy), Jennifer Martin-Hendriks (Michael), Daniel A. Martin, Juliana Martin-Hodge (Derek), Derek J. Martin (Erin) and Jeremy T. Martin (Janet); eight great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Judy Kerlin and Leslie Brimigion; stepson, Stephen Beck; and step-grandson, Jason Seek and his beloved companion, Ginger.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Priscilla Gregware.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 11, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels –Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. Walter’s family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
