Walter Anthony Diener's Obituary
Walter Anthony Diener, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Mary Washington Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on December 27, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Millard F. and Ruth A. Diener.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Joan Marie Diener; son, Walter John Diener (Thekla); daughters, Karen Lynn Diener and Kelley Marie Diener; grandsons, Luke Andrew Diener (Shyanne), and Trent Matthew Diener (Silvia); and a new great-grandson, Enzo Shepherd Diener, born December 16, 2023.
He served a tour in the US Army as a Military Intel Specialist. Following the Army, he began a career with Nationwide Insurance where he worked for 34 years, retiring as a District Sales Manager.
Walter was a loving husband, father and provider. Through various phases of his life he enjoyed bowling, playing golf, taking beach and mountain vacations, cruises, family trips to Kauai, and daily walks in the Fredericksburg Battlefield park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania, VA.
