Wallace David Myers' Obituary
Wallace David Gator Myers, 63, of Brandy Station, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 28, 1944 in Lignum to the late Dorian G. Myers and Orella Mae Thomas Myers.
Mr. Myers retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 39 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Milam Ridge Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Doris Ann Myers, two sons, David Myers and his wife, Janet, and Darrell Myers and his wife, Melanie, both of Brandy Station, and two daughters, Deborah Ann McCall and her husband, Allen, of Rochelle, and Brenda Groves of Roanoke.
He is also survived by ten brothers, Dorian Junior Myers and his wife, Debra, of Fredericksburg, Lonnie Dick Myers and his wife, Neva, of Elkwood, Jesse Pete Myers and his wife, Gloria, of Elkwood, George Cutter Myers of Summerduck, Douglas Gertie Myers and his wife, Libby, of Spotsylvania, Archie Sam Myers and his wife, Nancy, of Stevensburg, Calvin C.T. Myers and his wife, Gail, of Culpeper, and Kyle Blue Myers and his fiance, Donna, of Uniionville, Ricky Kitty Kat Myers and his fiance, Joan, of Lignum, and Tony Nitty Myers and his wife, Diane, of Lake Helen, Florida.
Mr. Myers is also survived by five sisters, Anna Brown and her husband, Buddy, of Lignum, Margaret Pearl Brown and her husband, Bob, of Fredericksburg, Bonnie Weedon and her husband, Butch, of Great Falls, Montana, Audrey Doodie Bug Watson and her husband, Ronnie, of Lignum, and Linda Lin Jeffries and her husband, Cecil, of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Jason Payne, Brittany Quinn, Katelyn Myers, Chase Myers, and Bryant Woodward, four great-grandchildren, Grayson and Gunnar Payne and Kylee and Joshua Quinn, a special nephew, Doug Myers, Jr., a special friend, Andy Willie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Myers is preceded in death by a sister, Rose Willingham, and a sister-in-law, Eva Myers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 17, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 12 p.m. in the Found and Sons chapel with the Pastor Lee Brown and Pastor Bob Ellinger officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andy Willie, Charles Sutpthin, Douglas Myers, Jr., Wayne Twomey, Ronnie Byers and Carl Settle.
