Wallace Gordon Herndon Jr.'s Obituary
Wallace ''Wally'' Gordon Herndon, Jr, 45, departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2015, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The Manassas, VA native was born on February 4, 1970 to Wallace Gordon Herndon, Sr. and Beverly Ann Blake Herndon.
He was a retired district manager for the Social Security Administration, an Army Special Forces veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield and a member of Poplar Springs United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his former wife Amanda Herndon of Brownsville, KY,one daughter Rachel Herndon Rainey (Gregory) of Lexington, KY, parents Wallace and Beverly Herndon of Culpeper, VA, one sister Carrie Herndon of Culpeper,VA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister Lisa Herndon King.
The family will receive friends Monday June 8, 2015 from 6 to 8PM at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel 504 Washington St, Brownsville, KY 42210.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday June 9, 2015 at Poplar Spring United Baptist Church 749 Poplar Springs Drive Murray, KY 42071 at 1 PM with a 3 hour prior visitation.
The family will receive friends on Thursday June 11, 2015 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA 22701 from 6 to 8 PM.
A funeral service will be held Friday June 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Ron Young officiating.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery with VFW post 2525 providing military honors.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
