Wallace Gordon Herndon Sr.'s Obituary
Wallace Gordon Herndon, Sr. 76, of Colonial Beach, passed on Friday, February 7, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family.
Mr. Herndon enjoyed hunting, watching the history channel, word search puzzles, spending time with family and his little buddy Lemmy. He had a unique sense of humor, was a master tinkerer out in his garage and was the best Pop in the world.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Ann Herndon, daughter Carrie Anne Herndon (Adam) and three grandchildren Rachel Herndon Rainey (Gregory), Caine Alexander Ingerski and Johnallen King, Jr., and ten siblings Wanda Patricia Grover (Larry), George Wesley Herndon, Jr. (Shirley), Robert Angus Herndon (Linda), William Patrick Herndon (Pam), Larry Wilson Herndon (Brenda), Randy Sherman Herndon (Pam), Claudia Lynn Stepp (Dean), Sherry K. Franklin (Al), Stephen Arnette Herndon, Sr. (Pam) and Gary Wayne Herndon (Suzanne); as well as two great grandchildren, Anniston and Leiland Rainey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wallace Gordon Herndon Jr.; his daughter, Lisa Dawn King; his parents, George Wesley Herndon, Sr. and Agnes Elizabeth Herndon; and two siblings, Michael Lee Herndon, Sr. (Trisha) and Ricky Joseph Herndon (Fran).
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, donations towards funeral costs may be mailed to Beverly Herndon at 1500 Bancroft Ave., Colonial Beach, VA 22443.
Please feel free to wear whatever feels comfortable as Wallace was a country boy and not fond of dressing up.
