Virginia J. Winn's Obituary
Virginia J. Winn, 90, of Culpeper was called home to the Lord, Thursday, August 1, 2013, at her home with her family at her bedside. She was born April 18, 1923 in Rappahannock County to the late Cooper and Bessie Jenkins.
Mrs. Winn was a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church. She loved to play Bingo, and she crocheted over one thousand table spreads, center pieces and doilies for family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. Renshaw, and five grandchildren, Teresa Smith and her husband, John, of Missouri, Glenda Hawkins and her husband, Ralph, of Bealton, RanE’ Herrick of Arizona, Ray A. Weakley, Jr. of Summerduck, and Robert W. Renshaw, Jr. of Wheeling, Missouri. Additional survivors include six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, George Jenkins and his wife, Margaret, of Culpeper, and three sisters, Anna Covington and her husband, Clinton, of Sperryville, Ethel Wayland of Bowling Green, Mary Frances Tovar of Lake of the Woods. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Weakley of Bealton, and a son-in-law, Robert Renshaw, Sr. of Wheeling, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Carrol B. Weakley, her second husband, Harvey S. Winn., a son, Ray A. Weakley, Sr. and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Hawkins. She is preceded in death also by four brothers, Irvin, Jessie, and Ashby Jenkins and John Jenkins Sr., and two sisters, Florine Hitt and Dolly Fincham.
The family invites friends to visit on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. Those friends who wish to display Mrs. Winn’s crochet pieces may bring them in for the visitation.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Dave Wheatley officiating.
