Virginia "Ginny" Williams' Obituary
Elsie Virginia Myers Williams (Ginny) passed away Sunday January 24, 2021 at The Culpeper (formally known as the Baptist Retirement Community) with family by her bedside. Virginia was born on December 3, 1934 to the late Elsie Childress Myers, and Marion William Myers Sr. in Culpeper County, Virginia.
She was a graduate from Culpeper County high school and in 1953 married Aubrey L. Williams. She grew up in a time that was both difficult and challenging in many ways, and was truly a part of the “Greatest Generation”. Her generosity, compassion, and kindness made her special to all that knew her. She retired from The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company after many years of service. A job she enjoyed greatly. She also enjoyed flowers, plants, and cooking. But the one thing she loved the most was her family. She was always there, and touched so many lives. Virginia will be missed by many.
Virginia is survived by her four children; Teresa W. Campbell, Aubrey L. Williams Jr. (Tammy), Catherine W. Smith (Bo), and Stephen R. Williams; four sisters Shelby Myers Hicks (Jim), Nancy Myers Weaver (Jim), Dianne Myers Smith (Bob), and Deborah Myers Martin (Bob); and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers; Marion W. Myers Jr., Robert L. “Pete” Myers, Larry W. Myers, and her son-in-law Glenn D. Campbell.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, with Sandy Martin and Hans Murdock officiating.
