Virginia "Peggy" Nicholson's Obituary
Virginia “Peggy” Nicholson of Charlottesville, VA passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Monroe Health and Rehab Center. She was born November 8, 1941, in Madison County to the late Albert and Mamie Nicholson.
Peggy was a devoted animal lover who found happiness in the simple act of caring for others. She especially enjoyed feeding the birds and made it a point to feed every stray that wandered into her neighborhood. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond animals, as she truly cherished time spent with her family and friends. Peggy’s warmth, kindness, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her four children, Daniel Nicholson and his wife, Diane, of Grand Rapids, MN, Rex Nicholson and his wife, Micah of Charlottesville, VA, Cheyenne Nicholson and his wife, Stacie of Syria, VA, and Clint Nicholson and his special friend, Tracie of Culpeper, VA; three grandchildren, Brandon Pelkey, Brittany Boggs, and Kristina Peters; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special niece, Kitty Shifflett.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis D. Nicholson; two brothers, Adam Nicholson and Hysel Nicholson; and her sister, Beulah Clore.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery, 12302 Alum Springs Road, Culpeper, VA.
