Virginia Hutcherson's Obituary
Virginia ‘’ Sutton’’ Hutcherson, 88, of Culpeper, VA passed away at Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
Mrs. Hutcherson was born in West Point, VA on January 13, 1926 to the late Robert Tyler Bland and Blanche Sutton Bland. She graduated from Longwood College and taught art in Culpeper County Schools. She was active in the Culpeper Methodist Church and Calfee Garden Club. Above all, she was a loving and devoted grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Scott Blankinship and her husband, Bill of Richmond, VA, Virginia “Ginger” Hamilton Starnes of Fredericksburg, VA and Nancy Bland Lanham and her husband, Jamie of Abingdon, MD; grandchildren, Robert Conrad Butler, Scott Starnes, Trey, Amanda and Adam Blankinship, and Christopher and Samantha Lanham; and great grandchildren, Jacob and Leah Starnes, Wesley and Courtney Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hamilton Hutcherson; and her brother, Robert Tyler Bland, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11 am at Culpeper United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Orndorff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701.
