Virginia Louise Anderson's Obituary
Virginia Louise Anderson, 87, of Culpeper went to be with the Lord on May 5th, 2013.
She was born June 19th, 1925 in Page County, Virginia, in what is now known as the Shenandoah National Park. She was one of nine children born to George William and Willie Thomas Buraker.
On October 22, 1946, she married Austin Eugene Anderson in Oakland Maryland, with whom she enjoyed 53 years of marriage. She spent 22 years as a Navy wife and spoke often and fondly of the places she went during that time. She also spent many years working at the St. Lukes School cafeteria, where she touched the lives of numerous people. Unwavering in her faith in the Lord, she lived His message and throughout her life she was a virtuous, kind, humble, and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Everyone who knew her knew what a sweet and gracious person she was, and that she had a kind word for everyone. Proverbs 31 eloquently describes the type of woman she strove to be: “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” “Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Virginia is survived by her sister Iva Dean Efird of Brightwood, Virginia, her two daughters and their husbands, Wanda and James Campbell of Culpeper, and Janet and Jesse Wise, also of Culpeper. Her grandchildren are Terra Rooper of Culpeper, Jessica Wise of Culpeper, and Katie Wise of Newport News, Virginia. Her great-grandchildren are Austin, Mikayla and Ian Rooper of Culpeper and a very special niece Zora Bailey also of Culpeper.
