Virginia Amick's Obituary
Virginia Lee Orr Amick, 73, of Ruther Glen, died at her home Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 after a critical illness of one month.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Small and husband, Steve of Elon, NC; three sons, John Amick of Ruther Glen, VA, Chris Amick and wife, Renee of Woodbridge, VA, and Joel Amick of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Sletton of Indian Trail, NC and Eleanor Shirey and husband, Jack of Columbia, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Maggie Orr, and a brother, Lewis Orr, all of Columbia, SC.
A memorial service will be held at Shallow Ford Christian Church, Elon, NC on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Sue Perry and Mr. Jim Owen. Visitation will follow the service in the church parlor. Burial will be a private ceremony in Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Ralph Scott Lifeservices, Inc., 408 W. Trade St., Burlington, NC.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Bon Secours Hospice and St Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA.
