Virgil Lee Payne's Obituary
Virgil Lee Payne, 85, of Castleton died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born August 24, 1931 in Sperryville to the late Oscar and Verlie Dodson Payne.
Mr. Payne attended Massanova Pentecostal Church in Castleton.
He is survived by two children, Teri Rhinehart and her husband, Randy of Stanley, VA, and Ricky Payne of Luray; two stepchildren, Linda Morgan of Fredericksburg and Richard Morgan and his wife, Wanda of Fredericksburg; six siblings, Lawrence Payne and his wife, Miriam of Winchester, Albert Payne and his wife, Barbara of Washington, VA, Carl Payne and his wife, Brenda of Sperryville, Haley Drummonds of Winchester, Dorothy Grove and her husband, John of Luray, and Charlotte Jenkins and her husband, Branson of Culpeper; very special friend, Margie Williams of Castleton; and eight grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Melinda Samuels and Keith Payne; one sister, Montrue Polen; one brother, Charles Payne; and his stepmother, Annie Payne.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Ricky Savage and Rev. L.D. Savage officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Tharp, Sill Chapman, Cody Dodson, Gary Dwyer, Richie Dwyer, Mike Sipe, Wayne Chapman and Al Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Johnson, Steve Payne, Jerry Carter, Daniel Keyser, Richard Compton, Ron Dennis, Paul Komar and Gary Whorton.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
