Violet Virginia Embrey's Obituary
Violet Virginia Embrey, 82 of Bealeton went home to be with her Lord Thursday, December 16, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Embrey was born October 28, 1928 in Sperryville to the late Rosser Raymond Jenkins and Daisy F. Wharton Jenkins.
Mrs. Embrey was a longtime member of Jeffersonton Baptist Church. She loved to fish and garden with her family. She also loved her dog, Lucky and her cat, Tiger, who provided her with much comfort and unconditional love.
She is survived by her four daughters, Marie Putnam and her husband, Kenny, of Midland, Susan Bright and her husband, R.S., Doris Pruss and her husband, Frank, and Connie Keyser and her fiancé, Mike Butler, all of Bealeton and a son, David Snyder and his wife, Sue, of Culpeper and a daughter-in-law, Sue Wood of Rixeyville.
She is also survived by 5 sisters, Mary Woodward of Martinsburg WV, Susie Gallahan of Catlett, Helen Marshall of Bealeton, Lorriane Speaks of Manassas and Kathy Brown of Culpeper, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include her beloved dog, Lucky and cat, Tiger, special friends, Shirley and Richard, numerous nieces and nephews and Marshall Braylo and other church family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Embrey is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Embrey, two sons, Larry Junior Wood and Daniel Lewis Wood, a grandson, Michael Paul Settle, one brother, James Jenkins, one sister, Martha Wharton and her first husband, Dan Shelby Wood.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Rapidan, especially Leann and Gloria, for their care and all the many friends that visited with Violet during her time of illness.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 20, 2010 from 7 – 9 pm at Found and Sons Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11 am in Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Marshall Braylo and Rev. Dennis Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers named are Stevie Settle, Richard Bright, Jessie Keyser, Edward Pruss, Lee Keyser and Greg Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Michael Settle and Devin Paul Pullen.
