Violet Mae Carneal's Obituary
Violet Mae (Toni) Carneal, 73, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Toni was a leader of the Girl Scouts for 14 years and was a substitute teacher at Ferry Farms Elementary School. She was an avid gardener and was a band booster throughout her children’s lives. Toni loved all of the children in her family as well as close friends.
She was a member of the Fredericksburg Iris Society and many local genealogy societies in Caroline, Stafford, Spotsylvania and King George Counties; and the Patawomac Indian Tribe.
Toni is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ryland Henry Carneal; a son, Ryland Henry Carneal, Jr. of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Nina Carneal Cox and her husband, Larry Justin Cox of King George County; five grandchildren, Trevor Justin, Jasmine Nichole, Serena Marie, Crystal Ann and Ryland Shea; six great grandchildren; a brother, Roland Shelton of Woodford; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. Inurnment will follow in the Haynes/Carneal Family Cemetery.
