Vilma Jean Moody's Obituary
Vilma Jean Moody, 82, of Culpeper, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born February 14, 1943, to the late Gladys O. Nixon in New York.
Vilma is survived by her husband, Franklyn Grant; daughter, Phyllis Hollingsworth (Darrell); Jerome Price (whom she considered as a son); goddaughter, Michelle Boone Strother; brothers-in-law, Bevin Grant, Basil Grant, Kivin Grant, and Owen Grant; nephew, Stephan; a special cousin, Ryan Dolby; special and longtime friends Gloria Alexander and Shirley Price, and a host of extended family and friends.
Vilma was known by close family and friends as being eccentric, creative and full of personality. She was a humanitarian at heart and had many talents, winning prestigious awards for her photography. She loved music, was an avid fisherman, and loved playing her favorite card game with family and friends. She was witty and had an answer for everything. One who would NOT give you the shirt off her back, but instead, offer you heartfelt support to end; making sure you were capable and had the means and know-how to get your own shirt.
Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper with Pastor Sylvester Brown officiating. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
