Victoria Elaine Guthrie's Obituary
Victoria Elaine (Matzka) Guthrie, 38, passed away suddenly and peacefully from this life into the waiting, comforting presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
Victoria was born in 1984 in Peoria, IL to Patricia (Cave) Matzka and Jeffrey A Matzka. She graduated from North Stafford High School in 2002. The following year, Victoria married her first husband, Justin T. Wilhoite, now of Columbia, SC and traveled with him to where his military career stationed him in Bamberg, Germany, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and Ft. Drum, NY. She and Justin produced two Children (Melanie and Liam), but their marriage ended in 2015. The following year Victoria met the man she would spend the rest of her time in this life with – Keith M. Guthrie. She married Keith in 2018, and he adopted her two children, becoming their loving, devoted father. Their youngest child, Caroline was born to them in 2019. Victoria was a wife, a daughter, sister, cousin, Aunt, and mother of three beautiful children. She loved to cook, and all who were fortunate enough to partake were delighted. She had recently embarked on a career in public service as a career counselor and was able to fulfill her long-held desire to help people.
Victoria is survived by her husband of four years, Keith M. Guthrie of Fredericksburg; her daughter Melanie Rose Wilhoite-Guthrie, son Liam Matthew Guthrie, and daughter Caroline Elizabeth Guthrie; her mother, Patricia A. Cave of Thornburg; her father, Jeffrey A. Matzka and Stepmother, Tanya J. (Bean) Matzka of Fredericksburg; her brother, Jeffrey A. Matzka of Thornburg, stepbrother Joshua A. Trauth of Mississippi; stepsisters Heather Danielle (Trauth) Stidham of Fredericksburg, VA and Teresa A. (Trauth) Burgess of Stephens City, VA; Maternal Grandparents Charles L. Cave and Donna Cave of Florida; and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Hwy, Manassas, VA 20109 with Pastor Alan Smith officiating.
