Victor D. Ivanikov's Obituary
Victor D. Ivanikov, 81, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away on August 27, 2024. Born on July 16, 1943, in Zaporozhiya, Ukraine, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lyudmyla Ivanikova, in February 2021.
A beloved patriarch of his family, his presence was most special in the lives of those he cherished: Victor was known for his jovial personality and deeply treasured moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He found joy in watching the younger generations grow and took pride in preparing traditional Eastern European meals for his loved ones, creating lasting memories around the dinner table.
Victor dedicated his career to working as an automobile and machinery mechanic, a vocation that reflected his problem-solving nature, passion for mechanics, and willingness to help others. His work was not just a job but a lifelong passion that kept him engaged and provided for his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Oksana and Iryna; grandchildren, Karyna, Valeriya, Ronny, and Sasha; great-grandchildren, Alisa and Yeva; and his son-in-law, Laurence, who he jokingly referred to as his "favorite." Victor's playful spirit will also be very missed by the family dog, Maya.
The family has entrusted Found and Sons Funeral Home, located at 10719 Courthouse Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407, with the funeral arrangements. Victor's life and legacy will be honored in a manner befitting his significant impact on those he loved, with memorial services to be held at St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral (4001 17th St NW #7, Washington, DC 20011) at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024; and burial ceremony at St. Paul’s Rock Creek Cemetery (201 Allison St NW, Washington, DC 20011) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024.
