Verelle Mackison's Obituary
Verelle L. Mackison passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009. He was born in Central, Indiana on July 17, 1931 to Bertha Louellen Lohmeyer Mackison and Weaver Samuel Mackison.
Mac as he was known to friends and family retired in July of 1993 from Keller Mfg. Co. after 37 years of service. He loved fishing, traveling and the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Co. of which he was a member since October of 1966, the year he moved to Virginia from Corydon, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, whom he married on January 1, 1957. He is also survived by his children, Jeanne L. Jones, Linda L. Gyory, Peggy L. Green, Robert V. Mackison and Brian K. Mackison and their spouses, Pete Gyory, Livia Mackison and Melody Mackison and a friend of the family, Allen Green.
Nine grandchildren were his pride and they are, Stephanie Jones, Andrew and Amanda Gyory, Matthew and Geoffrey Green, Gordon and Eric Mackison and Michael and Nicole Miller, his sister, Leola Neideffer of Loogootee, Indiana and his brother, Frank W. Mackison of Rockville, Maryland, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who also survive him.
In addition to his parents Mac was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Mackison and Stuart Mackison.
Mac served in the United States Navy from 1952 thru 1956. He was a member of Highland Christian Church of Mauckport, Indiana. He graduated from high school at Mauckport in 1949 and recently returned there for his 60 year class reunion.
