Sgt. Tyler Dylan Compton's Obituary
Sgt. Tyler Dylan Compton, 26, of Fredericksburg, passed on Thursday, January 18, 2018.
Tyler was a 2010 graduate of Brooke Point High School in Stafford. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an infantryman. Compton was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Calvary Division since April 2017. Sgt. Compton deployed in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel from September 2015 to March 2016 and deployed to Kuwait from April to November 2017.
Sgt. Compton was a highly decorated Soldier and proud of his service. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal.
He was the loving son of Greg and Cindy Compton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Chase Kail Compton and Brentley Ryder Compton, paternal grandparents, Don and Shirley Compton, step-father, Bob McClure, Jr., and many loving extended family and friends.
Tyler’s family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels ~ Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A celebration of his life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
