T.Y. Martin's Obituary
T.Y. Martin, 76, of Culpeper died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Ashland, KY on August 3, 1931 to the late Norman Blake Martin, Sr. and Delpha Johnson Martin.
T.Y. was known by his fraternity brothers as the Kentucky Colonel. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was employed by IBM for fifteen years. He was CEO of RUS & Omni for eighteen years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlee Martin, his children, Thomas Gregory Martin of Columbia, TN, and Susan Leigh Martin of Culpeper, VA, and his grandchildren, Thomas Young “Ty” Martin, III, and Cramer Martin, both of TN, Alisa Chapella, Tom Allen, Bobby Allen, Danny Allen, and Joey Allen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, N.B. Martin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Farrar officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with honors provided by American Legion Post # 330 and V.F.W. Post # 2524.
