Tommie Eugene Gray, Sr.'s Obituary
Tommie Eugene Gray, Sr., 71 of Culpeper went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 11, 2016. Tommie was born on June 26, 1944 in Culpeper to the late John H. Gray, Sr. and Ruby V. Gray.
Tommie was a welder by trade working his master craftsmanship with Williams Bridge & Company for many years. Tommie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to having a huge heart he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, rarely missing a game. Providing him his greatest joy of spending time with his family.
Tommie is survived by his four children, Alvin S. Colbert of Phoenix, AZ, Rachel D. Gray, Kimberly J. Gray and her companion, James Howard, and Tommie E. Gray, Jr. all of Culpeper, VA; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren whom he loved dearly; two of his six siblings; one sister, Audrey Washington and one brother, Frederick D. Gray, Sr. and his wife Jean Gray.
Tommie is also survived by two sisters-in-laws; Thelma Banks Gray and Barbara Williams and her husband, Elfonzo Williams; two brothers-in-law, Alfred Byrd and Johnny Yeager; a very special friend, Georgia Banks; a devoted friend, John Clatterbuck; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, extended family.
In addition to his parents, Tommie is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Colbert Gray and four siblings; Frances Byrd, Catherine Yeager, Minnie Turner, and John H. Gray, Jr.; and one brother-in-law, Elmer Leon Washington.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Lewis officiating.
Interment will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
