Timothy (Tim/Timbo) Will Southard died on September 10, 2023 in Fredericksburg, Virginia at the age of 70—but he would assure you he’s not sleeping, he’s just resting his eyes. Born September 22, 1952 to Jean Scott Southard and R Read Obituary

I’m so sorry for your loss, Meg. I know you’ll miss Tim forever. I love you, Lynn
So many memories from our childhood are rushing in. We taught ourselves fly fishing while camping together on the North fork of the Shenandoah River. Building a cabin in the woods. Marching in band. Riding around in his '58 station wagon that he bought for one dollar. Playing football in the backyard and in the horse field. Playing left-handed waffle ball because the fence was too close. Mrs. Southard kicking us all out of the basement at 11pm. Tim was a great friend and I was blessed to know him. I know someday we'll meet again but it's hard to imagine a world where he's not out there somewhere. We'll be keeping Meg and the family in our prayers.

Tim was one of my favorite people when I worked at A.P. Hill. He put up with me constantly bringing some small animal that needed care and reintroduction to nature, and endless questions about all things wildlife. His kindness and empathy saw me through many rough patches on the Hill. He is gone from us much too young, but his affect and effect on those he leaves behind will go on forever. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during your time of grief.
I can still see that big brass tuba sticking up above the rest of the band, proudly marching down the hall on Fridays at old Fairfax High School. And I knew dependable Tim was underneath of it. Mick Jenkins
I’ll never forget how Tim made me feel when we first moved in. He welcomed me and my sisters as if we were his own and made me feel like even though we moved away from our family we still had family close by. I loved running up the hill and knocking on his back door to fill the bird feeders while he would talk about the birds and trees. He always opened the door with a big smile and a warm hug no matter what he was doing before we got there. I love you Timbo ♥️
