Timothy Wayne Cook's Obituary
Timothy W. Cook, 58, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Tim was born in Merced, California on November 17, 1960. He moved to Texas as a child and remained there until he joined the United States Navy at the age of 19, where he spent 23 years travelling the world and honorably serving his country. Once retired, he continued working with the Navy as a civilian contractor.
Tim is survived by his wife, Dana, his two young children, Kathleen “Katie” Elizabeth and John Michael; and his sisters, Belinda Lewis of Commerce, GA and Debbie Beene (Mark) of Kathleen, GA.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Billy M. and Rosetta Cook and his father-in-law, Vince Stransky.
Tim left behind a large, loving, extended family who will miss his humor, laughter, wit and wisdom. They are his mother-in-law, Joan Stransky; his brothers-in-law Bob Stransky (Linda) and Doug Stransky (Gillian); his nieces and nephews, Ronica Freeman (Michael), Melissa Stanely (Charles), Monica Lewis (Brandon), Taylor Lewis, Margaux Sprinkel (Matt), Vincent Stransky, Emily Laabs, Danielle Laabs and Brittany Newberger (Chris). He leaves behind great nieces and nephews, Justin Davenport, Alexander Freeman, Cody Lewis, and Kyle Stanley, Trinity Stanley, Lizzie Lewis, Mason Sprinkel, Maddox Sprinkel, Vivian Stransky, Jack North, Eric Newberger and Andrew Newberger,
Friends may visit the family from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Found and Sons Funeral Home, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 9151 Elys Ford Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery, 502 East Chandler St, Culpeper, VA 22701.
