Thomas Wayne Utz's Obituary
Thomas Wayne Utz, 70, of Rixeyville, fought the battle of cancer for over 3 years, was healed, and was received into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at his home. He was born March 12, 1951 in Fauquier, Virginia to the late Thomas Menefee Utz and Bessie Gore Utz.
Wayne was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown. He was an Army veteran, a carpenter by profession, with a passion for farming. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lydia Settle Utz; two children, Melanie U. Phillips (Stephen) and Thomas A. Utz (Melissa); three grandchildren, Ryan A. Phillips, Luke T. Phillips and Natalie B. Utz; and a host of additional family members.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Floyd M. Utz.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ron Young officiating. The family would like to invite those who are unable to attend in person to join via livestream at

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Rd, Jeffersonton.
Memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s name to Alum Spring Baptist Church building fund at 11058 Dutch Hollow Rd, Culpeper, VA 22701.
