Thomas Romine Taylor's Obituary
Thomas Romine Taylor, 78, of Sperryville, VA died Friday, February 3, 2012 at his residence from a stroke. He was born July 22, 1933 in Washington DC to the late Frank Romine and Florence Celeste Crossman Taylor.
T.R. grew up in Dunn Loring, VA and later moved to Sperryville in 1952. He worked as a farmer and orchardist on his farm and had also worked as a postal carrier. He was also a committee member for the USDA Agricultural Board.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Irene Thompson Taylor, four children, Thomas Grant Taylor and his wife, Cheryl Ann Poling Taylor, William Wesley Taylor and his wife, Barbara Ann Dunphy Taylor, Susan Marie Taylor and Carol Crossman Taylor Leake, all of Sperryville and one sister, Jean Grove Taylor of Washington, DC.
Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Emily Marie Taylor Roop and her husband, Christopher William Roop of Bassett, VA, Brian Jacob Taylor and his wife, Alexandra Lee Davis Taylor of Sperryville, Julie Ann Taylor Beahm and her husband, Timothy Michael Beahm of Midland and Roy Taylor “RT” Leake of Sperryville, two great grandchildren, Claire Angelette and Wesley Michael Beahm, one niece, Pamela Jean Taylor and one nephew, Frank Romine Taylor, II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Crossman Taylor.
A private graveside service was held on the family farm.
The family would like to hold a memorial service for friends and loved ones at a later date. An announcement will be published in the future with detailed information for planning purposes.
