Thomas James Synan II's Obituary
Thomas James Synan II, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024.
As many know, Tommy didn’t always make the wisest decisions. His decision a few years ago to welcome Jesus into his heart and ask forgiveness for his sins was the very best he ever made. Clean and sober, Tommy began to grow and mature in his relationship with Jesus, leading him to become the good man he was intended to be. Through what can only be attributed to a miracle, he survived more than three years beyond doctors’ expectations. Tommy used that time wisely, humbled himself, and restored relationships that appeared to have been destroyed forever. He lamented those he couldn’t reach (for a multitude of reasons) and prayed for their hearts to be opened as his was. Words can’t really express how grateful “Tommy’s Angels” are to have had these last couple of years to get to know and love him again. Though his life appears to have been cut short at 60, it hasn’t. Eternity in his Father’s house, his illnesses healed, isn’t short at all. Tommy knows true peace and we know love never dies.
Tommy is survived by his children, Amber Synan Banks (Stephan) and Thomas James Synan III, both of Spotsylvania; his siblings, Laura Payne Cannon, of Caroline County, Lisa Synan Frey, of Monticello, MS., and Charles "Chip" Synan (Denise), of Spotsylvania; and three grandchildren, and one grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Synan Smith and James "Mickey" Synan.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2024 at Synan Family Cemetery.
