Thomas Arthur Selvig's Obituary
Thomas Arthur Selvig, 71, of Culpeper died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1948 in New Jersey to the late Kermit and Bernice Bryant Selvig.
Mr. Selvig was a veteran of the US Army and retired after 20 years as Master Sergeant. He later retired from the US Postal Service in Culpeper and was a member of Culpeper VFW Post 2524 and Jeffersonton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Martha Selvig; two daughters, Shannon Elam (Rick) of St. Louis, MO, and Kristine Jones of AL; three stepchildren, Lisa Smith (Jack) of Foster, WV, Scott Adkins (Gay) of Lake, WV, and Trena Dingess (David) of Danville, WV; one sister, Carol Puente (Juan) of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kermit H. Selvig, Jr. and James A. Selvig.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 12 pm at Jeffersonton Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating. Full military honors will be conducted at the service.
A time of fellowship will be held immediately following the service.
