Thomas Edward Hertz's Obituary
Thomas Edward Hertz, 72, of Culpeper died on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 5, 1941 in Wisner, NE to the late Gene and Eloise Dodder Hertz.
Mr. Hertz was raised in Iowa and played football at the University of Missouri where he received his BA and MA in English. He found his true love, second to his wife and family, coaching football at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax from 1997-2010 and with that earned many championships and titles.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Hertz; two children, Sarah Mahoney and her husband, Sean of Culpeper and Michael Hertz and his wife, Natalia of Matthews, NC; and four grandchildren, Jack and Sam Mahoney and Jason and Anna Hertz.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Denise Vogt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Rapidan, PO Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
