Thomas Swanson Edwards' Obituary
Thomas Swanson Edwards, 93, of Herndon, VA, died Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Aarondale Assisted Living in Springfield, VA. He was born April 26, 1930 in Norfolk, VA to the late Claude and Elizabeth Edwards.
Thomas served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the local 5 Plumbers Union for many years until his retirement. He and his wife loved the beach, where many family memories were made. Thomas enjoyed watching the Redskins during their glory years. He especially loved the extra time he had to spend with his grandchildren after his retirement.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Jo Edwards; his children, Lynn Edwards-Hall (Preston), Cheri Edwards, Nancy Fenstermacher, Lisa Koeninger (John), and Tom Edwards (Erin); six grandchildren, Garrett Hall, Zach Fenstermacher, Sarah Koeninger, Austin Hall, Logan Edwards (Chelle), and Maddy Edwards; three great grandchildren, Cillian, Hunter, and Jaiden; and one brother, Robert Edwards (Cindy).
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E. Chandler St, Culpeper. Military honors will be provided by the US Army.
