Terry Johnson Beverly's Obituary
Terry Johnson Beverly, 85, of Stafford County went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Terry loved the Lord with all her heart and put Him first in everything she did. Her walk with Christ inspired the faith of multiple generations in her family and many close friends. Terry made it her mission in life to show everyone the love of Jesus. She followed in her mother’s footsteps by talking to anyone about Jesus who would listen.
Family was everything to Terry. Her greatest pride and delight were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing made her light up more than seeing her babies. She also kept in close touch with her nieces and nephews, calling and texting them often. Terry was the glue that held her family together and she was the steady presence everyone turned to.
Terry’s love for people extended beyond her family. She loved to dance and she loved music. Since 1959 Terry was a cherished part of the Starfires, a dance drill team, where she poured her heart and creativity into the community. She also loved teaching dance exercise classes, inspiring others with her energy and spirit.
Terry also spent many meaningful years working as an aide at Gayle Middle School, where she touched countless young lives with her compassion and encouragement.
Terry was a gifted storyteller with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor—always able to make others smile, even on the hardest days. Her stories, laughter, and wisdom will be treasured for generations.
Terry lived a life full of joy, color, and devotion. She was vibrant and colorful in both personality and style. Though it may have taken her a “little while” to get ready for an event, she lit up the room when she arrived with her fabulous style and joyful spirit. Terry was extremely patriotic and very proud to be an American. And she loved rooting for her favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles, who happened to wear her favorite color, orange.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lucille Johnson; her husband, Ronald Wade Beverly; her brother, L. Phillip Johnson; and her sister, Robin Osborne.
Terry is survived by her children, Danny Beverly (Noelle) and Tandi Cliser (Scott); grandchildren, Justus Cliser (Angelica), Jordanne Duffy (Gavan), Leah Beverly-Bender (Evan), and Ciara Batten (Austin); five great-grandchildren; brother, Trent Johnson (Shelly); and numerous dedicated and loving nieces and nephews.
Though she has gone on to glory, her legacy of faith, love, joy, and steadfast strength will continue to shine brightly through the many lives she blessed.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg with Pastor Charles “Bootsie” Bullock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in the chapel, 1902 Plank Road, Fredericksburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Salvation Army at https://give.salvationarmyusa.org
