Teresa Leigh Dwyer-Shifflett's Obituary
Teresa Leigh Dwyer-Shifflett, 60, of Standardsville, died Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Standardsville, VA. She was born March 8, 1965, in Culpeper to Nancy Dwyer and the late Arthur Dwyer.
Teresa loved animals, especially her dogs whom were her biggest heart. She would give the shirt off of her back; she loved “hard”. Teresa was a hard worker, a workaholic. Everyone was “family” to her. Teresa loved her children and her grandbabies were her life.
She is survived by her mother, Nancy Dwyer; two daughters, Samantha L. Dwyer (Timmy L. Proffitt) and Jessica M. Dwyer; four grandchildren, Braelyn Hawkins, Alyissa Christensen, Reuben Christensen, Jr. and Maliyah Hawkins; two step-grandchildren, Connor Proffitt and Cooper Proffitt; sister, Vicky Dwyer Weakley (Paul Foley); aunt, Betty Jenkins; “fur babies”, dogs, Dixie and Rebel and cats, Peanut and Rufus; and a host of extended family and friends. Rest in peace, “wildchild”.
