Sylvia Denise Henson's Obituary
Sylvia Denise (Nee) Henson, 65, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2024, in Mechanicsville, VA, of cardiac arrest.
Denise was born in Washington, D.C., to Robert Johnson and Ruth Bailey on May 19, 1959. She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School. She worked as a manager for various companies but her final station was with Stafford County Schools. Denise lived fully through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family or traveling.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth; her siblings, Robert Johnson Jr., Willie Johnson, and Larry Johnson; her grandson, Frank Bradley Jr.; and her beloved Yorkie, Peanut.
Denise is survived by daughters, Caren Bradley and Crystal Henson; son-in-law, Frank Bradley; siblings, Linda Minor, Tijuana Johnson, and Gregory Johnson; grandchildren, Justin and Alexis Henson; granddaughter-in-law, Jacqueline Henson; grand puppies, Diana, Victoria, and Randy; and great-grand puppies, Mia and Athena; as well as lifelong friends Sandra Barry, De Lora Foushee-Mason, Faynetta Clark and John Flowers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
As per Denise’s wishes, she requested that there be no funeral or visitation. She wished everyone remembered her as she was in life and share the memories of their relationship.
