Susan K. Wood's Obituary
Susan K. Wood is safely resting in the arms of God. She passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. She was born January 9, 1948 in Princeton, IN to Ira and Margaret (Wilkinson) Hungerford of Mt Carmel, IL.
Sue graduated in 1966 from Mt. Carmel High School, and attended Wabash Valley Jr. College before marrying Dan Wood on October 30, 1966. She cherished her family, especially her two sons, Chris and Scott.
Sue was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was dedicated in her work, both at her job and at Journey Church. She delighted in helping others and meeting people. In her fight with cancer, she was a tremendous example in her faith in God.
Sue is survived by her husband, Dan Wood; son, Scott Wood (Karen); grandchildren, Davis Dawson Wood, Elsie Grace Wood, Emma (Luke) Coushorn, Danielle (Drew) Sinclair, and Faith (A.J.) Cooper; great grandchildren, Matthew Sinclair and Rosalie Cooper; siblings, Ron (Mary) Hungerford, Joe (Linda) Hungerford, and Chuck (Marla) Hungerford; brother-in-law, Gary (Ann) Wood; and sister-in-law, Donna (Tony) Hodgson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Don and Mary Wood; one son, Christopher Allen Wood; and several other little angels we haven’t met.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Kevin Dawson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
