Susan Anne Payne's Obituary
Susan Anne Payne, 75, passed away on June 8, 2026, at her home in Culpeper, VA.
Susan was born on August 23, 1950, to the late Fred and Frances Payne of Boston, VA. Susan was born and raised in Rappahannock County. She also resided in Washington, D.C., and Unionville, VA. She spent her entire career at C&P Telephone, now owned by Verizon Communications.
She is survived by three sisters: Beverly Sturm and her husband, Philip, Sandra Brown, Patricia Payne; two brothers: Wayne Payne and his wife, Brenda, and Francis (Buck) Payne and his wife, Barb. She is also survived by two aunts, Phyllis Yancey of Culpeper and Barbara Hudson of Richmond.
The family wishes to express deep appreciation and gratitude to Mercy Anane for the many kindnesses she continually showed Susan while Susan was convalescing.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
