This may be inappropriate but the Martin family very generously had a sale of Susan’s art supplies. I can’t tell you the joy and happiness that you brought to so many artists, teachers and craftspeople. Thank you so much. I bought several of Susan’s journals and she was an incredible artist. They will be cherished and loved. I know she was an incredible person and my heart goes out to your family.
I was shocked & saddened to learn of Susan’s passing. We had lost touch these past few years but memories I have of our fun times together remain. I thought it was so special that Susan could be buried with y’all’s Mom. I remember “ the good old days” in Culpeper with all the Martins playing tennis & swimming. Hugs to you Greg & Kristi

To the Martin family,
I send my condolences on the passing of beloved Susan.
You don’t know me, but Susan talked often of you all. Especially of her niece Cramer, whom she felt especially close and her brother.
Susan and I became friends over 15 years ago. We both had a passion for holistic wellness, art and deep conversation. Our friendship began in Hilton Head, continued as she built a life in Raleigh, when I moved back to Australia and then to Italy.
Susan was a wonderful woman, with many extraordinary gifts. She was a source of strength to me, and I cherish our connection.
We had planned for her to visit me at my new home in Italy to paint, laugh and celebrate life. Know, I will be thinking of her every time I do that very thing.
It’s not often you meet people that impact your life in a meaningful way. Susan was one of those people for me. She is deeply loved, our friendship cherished.
She enriched my life in so many ways, as I hope I did hers. I will miss her, until we meet again.
If any of the family wishes to contact me, I would be pleased… [email protected]
Sending you all my deepest regards
