Sue Ellen Estes Luthi's Obituary
Mrs. Sue Ellen Estes Luthi, of Sperryville, VA, loving wife to P. Michael Luthi, died on August 10, 2023, at the age of 76. Sue was born on April 12, 1947, in Arlington, VA, to Robert W. Estes and Helen M. Tanner Estes.
During childhood, Sue lived in Falls Church, VA, and later moved to Fairfax County to continue a long career with various US government agencies, including 26 years with the Office of the Chief of Naval Research before retiring in 1998. She and Mike were married on February 24, 1973, and after raising two children they decided to spend their retirement years in Rappahannock County and moved to Sperryville in 1998.
Sue loved nothing more than devoting time to her family. She will be missed dearly by her husband, Mike; daughter, Lisa Ramey; son, John Luthi and wife, Beth; granddaughter, Ashlyn Ramey, and fiancé, Casey Paglia; grandson, Justin Ramey, and fiancé, Olivia Atkins; granddaughter, Ryann Luthi, and great-grandson, Weston Hawkins, granddaughter, Samantha Luthi with partner, Brandon Miller, and great-grandson, Brady Miller; granddaughter, Payton Luthi; her brother, Ron Estes and wife, Linda; and many other dear family members, near and far.
At Sue's request, a private service will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery.
