Stephen Allen Lane's Obituary
Stephen Allen Lane of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 after a long fight against cancer.
Mr. Lane served in the United States Navy for 24 years. He served 18 of those years aboard aircraft carriers (USS Forrestal, USS Kitty Hawk, USS America) as an ordinance man (“Red Shirt”). After retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer, Mr. Lane continued to work to keep our Navy strong while employed by Veridian, Northrop Grumman and TASC.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; two daughters, Brandy McNeal and Chrissy Weeks; three grandchildren and two brothers, Christopher and Mark.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:45am in Fort Myer Chapel followed with interment in Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Lane’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
