Stephen Joseph Gyomory's Obituary
Stephen Joseph Gyomory, 75, of Fredericksburg passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at McGuire VA Medical Center.
Stephen was born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania and raised in Schenectady, New York. He was proud of his military service and the time he spent serving his country during the Vietnam and Korean wars. He retired from the United States Army after 21 years as Sergeant First Class. Stephen’s other joys included bowling, reading war stories and Archie comics
Stephen is survived by his son, Joseph Gyomory (Francis) of Florida; four sisters, Mary Ann Sperbeck (Thomas), Florence Dufek (Robert), Joan Cipriano and Arlene Kelly (Thomas); and two brothers, Paul Gyomory (Debbie) and John Gyomory (Mary), all of New York; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. His family wishes to also acknowledge his close friend, Frank.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa and his daughter, Evelyn.
Stephen’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9149 Elys Ford Road, Fredericksburg. Interment will take place in Princeton Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, Stephen’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Disabled American Veterans, DAV Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
